Do people say “bae” anymore? Probably not. But that doesn’t change how I feel about the love of my e-commerce life- Shopify!
Want to know just how much I adore my favorite e-commerce platform? Let me count the ways:
1. You Can Easily Build the Shop of Your Dreams
When dating an actual human being, being able to change their outer appearance as you see fit would be…troublesome. But with Shopify, ease of customization is an awesome perk! While tweaking HTML and CSS aren’t a problem for me, I’d rather not have to do it. And thanks to Shopify I hardly ever need to! The theme store provides plenty of eye catching options, and customizing is super simple, meaning you don’t have to be design-savvy to make it work. I especially love how you can see a live preview of the changes you’re making as you go.
Want to customize even more? You can still edit the HTML/CSS if you feel comfortable doing so and there are plenty of tutorials floating around. That’s how I edited my product images to change when the mouse hovers over them.
It was simple enough for me, and I felt safe making changes because you can easily restore past versions of your shop’s code.
2. They Truly Care About Your Success
Every day that I log in to my dashboard I’m met with analytics, sales and pending orders. The usual stuff. But what’s not so usual? The tips, tricks and resources that Shopify provides, even making suggestions based on your shop activity.
While I’ve never had an e-commerce platform care this much, I can’t say I’m shocked. This is the kind of tender love and care I’d expect from bae, erm, I mean, Shopify. Along with the lovely messages, they have a super helpful blog full of case studies and stories from other e-commerce entrepreneurs who have made it big using their platform.
3. No Seriously, They Really Do Care
From a logo generator to mock up templates and more, Shopify offers a seemingly endless selection of free resources to help your business grow on a budget. Check out these free mock ups I made with an image I created in Photoshop.
4. There’s an App for That
The app store is bursting at the seams with both free and paid apps to help you streamline your business, market your products, keep customers happy, and boost your conversion rate. Seriously, it’s hard to choose just one…
…so it’s a good thing you don’t have to!
You can use as many apps as your heart desires. I usually experiment with a few at a time and keep the ones that work for me. Two apps that I’m currently obsessed with are SEO Image Opimizer and Shippo.
5. There’s No Pressure
You can give Shopify a spin for free for two whole weeks. Plenty of time to poke around, design your shop, and see if Shopify is the one for you. After one week I was madly, head-over-heels in love!
